PF3D7_1118700 myosin light chain B

PfMLC-B (MyoB light chain) co-localises in the cell with MyoB, binds to MyoB in vivo and its C-terminal domain binds to the MyoB C-terminal sequence in vitro. i) MLC-B-GFP subcellular location in a P. falciparum schizont. GFP was detected by green fluorescence and the nuclei (blue) were labelled with Hoechst dye prior to microscopic analysis. Merged images are also shown. Scale bar: 2 μM. ii) MLC-HA localisation to the apex of merozoites in a P. knowlesi schizont. The HA-epitope was detected using a specific antibody, followed by a species-specific Alexafluor 488-labelled secondary antibody. Nuclei (blue) were detected using DAPI. Merged images are also shown. Scale bar: 2 μM. iii) Indirect Immuno-fluorescence of P. falciparum schizont to determine colocalisation of MLC-B-GFP (green) with MyoB (red). Nuclei were counterstained with DAPI (blue). The merged images are also shown. Scale bar: 2 μm.
