PfPPR1 is localized to the P. falciparum 3D7 apicoplast. Immunofluorescence microscopy using P. falciparum D10 ACPL-GFP parasites that target GFP to the apicoplast (left panel) and an antibody specific for PfPPR1 with a secondary AlexaFluor-568 antibody (middle panel) showed localization of PfPPR1 to the apicoplast (indicated by overlay with bright field image in the right panel).
