Localization of the predicted N-terminal (20 amino acids) palmitoylated and myris-

toylated proteins in P. falciparum. The predicted peptides (indicated above the micrographs) were localized in late stage parasites using GFP fusion proteins.

According to their predominant subcellular distribution they were grouped into apical (Api), inner membrane complex (IMC) and parasite plasma membrane (PPM).
