Full-length PfCRT fused to the green fluorescent protein (GFP). Confocal laser scanning microscopy of parasites expressing PfCRTfull revealed a fluorescence signal surrounding the malaria pigment, consistent with a localization of the corresponding protein at the digestive vacuolar membrane. First column, differential interference contrast (DIC); second column, GFP; third column, GFP and nuclear staining with Hoechst; fourth column overlay of green and DIC channel. Scale bar = 4 mm.
