PF3D7_0202000 knob-associated histidine-rich protein

Human red blood cells infected with Plasmodium falciparum (clone 3D7 KAHRP (+His)-GFP). Fluorescence emanates from both the host cell membrane and the parasite cytosol. Note that food vacuoles (black spots in the DIC images) have strong fluorescence, originating from the GFP-tagged protein delivered into this organelle by the hemoglobin-utilization process.
