PF3D7_1133400 apical membrane antigen 1

RASP2 plays an essential role in rhoptry secretion. IFA on E64 or DMSO-treated iKO-PfRASP2-HA3 parasites ± rapamycin. PfRASP2 depletion does not affect PfAMA1 relocalisation at the surface of merozoites (green arrows). PfAMA1 translocation from the micronemes to the plasma membrane of fully mature daughter merozoites during egress suggesting that the rhoptry secretion defect observed is independent of the ability of the mutant to secrete proteins from micronemes.
