PF3D7_1335400 reticulocyte binding protein 2 homologue a

RH2a is localized at the tight junction during invasion. Shown is the colocalization of RH2a proteins with EBA175 and AMA1 in junction-arrested merozoites, obtained by cytochalasin D treatment, from W2mef (A), W2mef/Nm (B), or 3D7 (C) parasites. Arrowheads in the cartoons represent the proteins at the tight junction. Approximately 80 junction-arrested merozoites in random microscopic fields were observed in order to confirm the localization of RH2a at the tight junction. Bars, 5 mM.
