Primary processing of the SUB1 precursor to p54 is autocatalytic and is required for intracellular trafficking. Representative images from IFAs showing that the WT second copy (V5) but not the 54VK/DL mutant (V5) was colocalized with the endogenous SUB1 (HA). The 54VK/DL mutant, however, was colocalized with the ER marker BiP. Scale bar: 2 μm. Experiments were repeated two times.
