PF3D7_1206000 shewanella-like protein phosphatase 2

IFA of PfShelph2-HA3 parasites using anti-HA and anti-MSP119 antibodies at different stages of the RBC cycle, i.e. ring, trophozoite, schizont and merozoite. Scale bar, 2 μm. PfShelph2-HA3 is not detected from ring stage to young schizont. Then, during late schizogony, when MSP119 gives either a peripheral schizont staining or labels the periphery of each merozoite during budding, PfShelph2-HA3 is found in discrete apical foci and remains detectable in free merozoites. In contrast, in newly re-invaded ring, evidenced by the persistent parasite membranestaining with MSP119, PfShelph2-HA3 staining disappears.
