Detection and localization of PfKsgA1. immunofluorescence confocal microscopy of infected erythrocytes using purified anti-PfKsgA1 Ab and mitochondrial and apicoplast markers, Mitotracker Red and anti-PfHU Ab, respectively. The PfKsgA1 signal was distributed throughout the cytoplasm with higher intensity in the region overlaying with the mitochondrial marker Mitotracker Red (upper panel). No signal overlap was observed with the apicoplast marker PfHU (lower panel) indicating that PfKsgA1 targets to both the cytoplasm and the mitochondrion.
