PNPLA1 is expressed in the asexual blood and gametocyte stages of P. falciparum. PNPLA1 localization to the blood stage cytosol. Rings, trophozoites (TR) and schizonts (SZ) (B) or gametocytes (GCII-GCV) and activated gametocytes (aGC; at 15 and 30 min p.a.)
