PfATRP is not localized on the parasite surface. a-PfMSP1 mouse antibody stained the surface of merozoites in non-permeabilized schizonts during in-solution IFA, but no staining was observed for a-PfATRP rabbit antibody. Non-permeablized in-solution IFA’s showed that a-PfMSP1 mouse antibody labeled the surfaces of merozoites in intact segmented schizonts, but a-PfATRP rabbit antibodies did not label the merozoite surfaces.
