PF3D7_1125300 DNA-directed RNA polymerase

Subcellular localization of Plasmodium falciparum mitochondrial RNA polymerase (PfmtRNAP) and interaction with mtDNA. Immuno-fluorescence co-localization of PfmtRNAP by confocal microscopy using mitochondrial marker dye Mitotracker Red (A) and apicoplast marker PfHU (B). A three-dimensional reconstruction of PfmtRNAP co-localization with Mitotracker Red is shown in A (3D). Very clear overlap of the Mitotracker Red was seen with PfmtRNAP signals (A) while there was no signal overlap with the apicoplast marker PfHU (B), indicating that PfmtRNAP localized exclusively in the parasite mitochondrion.
