Subcellular location of adaptor proteins
AP-1 and AP-2, sort cargo proteins into clathrin-coated vesicles. AP-3 and AP-4 appear to be able to work without clathrin. Retromer complex mediates endosome-to-Golgi retrieval of vacuole/lysosome. COPI is involved in packaging cargo into vesicles for retrograde trafficking from the Golgi apparatus to the ER. Location is based on yeast.
